The Pattern Details

Yarn

I used Hobbii’s Winter Glow Solid yarn to make my blanket. This is an aran weight yarn made of 51% wool and 49% acrylic. It’s really soft and warm and is available in a gorgeous range of glowing colors.

I used less than one 100 g / 3.5 oz ball of each of the following colors:

  • Purple Plum (38)
  • Navy Blue (08)
  • Cobalt Blue (09)
  • Petrol Green (13)
  • Emerald (17)
  • Avocado (20)
  • Curry (23) – 1 ball
  • Copper (24) – 1 ball
  • Amber (26) – 1 ball
  • Cerise (34) – 1 ball

You could substitute this yarn for another cozy aran (worsted) or DK (light worsted) weight yarn.

Crochet Hook

I used a 3.5 mm hook. I recommend making a test swatch with your chosen yarn before you start and adjust your hook size if needed.

Size

The finished blanket measured 107 cm x 117 cm but this can easily be adjusted to whichever length and width you like. The pattern explains exactly how to do this.

Tapestry Crochet

The colorwork pattern is created using tapestry crochet. If you’ve not tried it before, have a look at some of the video tutorials linked above to get you started or check out my page all about tapestry crochet here.
