Hello!
I am really happy to let you know that my new Asteria Cushion pattern is finished and you can buy it now on both Etsy and Ravelry. There’s 20% off the pattern in both of these stores until Monday.
Asteria is a bold geometric design made with three colours, and the inspiration for it came from a picture of a patchwork quilt.
An asteria is a gemstone with a bright star-like effect in the middle so the name “Asteria” seemed a good choice.
You can have great fun playing around with different colour combinations for this pattern, and changing the order of the colours on the two sides can give the cushion a completely different feel. Just flip your cushion over every so often for a whole new vibe!

The pattern uses tapestry crochet to change colours. If you’ve not tried this way of crocheting before or would just like a few tips, do check out my YouTube tutorial on this fun technique.
I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK to make my cover (two 50 g balls of each of the three colours), and I love the softness and great stitch definition that this has given it. However, the pattern would work well with any DK yarn.
One of my testers suggested using the pattern to make an amazing blanket formed from these squares which I agree could look absolutely stunning. Why not give it a go?
I hope you like my new design as much as I do. Don’t forget you can get 20% off now on both Etsy and Ravelry, but only until Monday – so hurry, and don’t miss out! No need for a code, the discount is applied automatically when you add the pattern to your basket.
Happy crocheting!
Catherine xx
