The Pattern Details
Yarn
I used Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK to crochet my blanket.
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK is a DK yarn made of 100% acrylic.
Each ball contains 280m or 100g of yarn.
I used:
- A – White – 3 balls
- B – Sapphire – 2 balls
- C – Mauve Marl – 2 balls
- D – Lagoon Blue – 2 balls
You could substitute for other DK weight yarns.
Crochet Hook
I used a 4 mm / G/6 crochet hook.
Gauge
15 stitches and 9 rows over 10 cm with spiked granny clusters worked in rows.
Size
The blanket measures a generous 113cm x 120cm.
However, instructions are provided for varying the width and length of your blanket so you could make any size you like, from small baby blanket right up to giant king-sized throw!

Techniques
The blanket uses the following stitches (US terms in brackets):
- foundation treble crochet
- chain
- treble crochet
- spiked treble crochet
- double crochet
- slip stitch
- front and back post treble crochet
All of these are demonstrated in the accompanying 4-part video course so whatever your crochet level, you can crochet along with confidence.
