WHO is catherine crochets?
Catherine Crochets
I'm a crochet designer from south London in the UK, where I live with my husband and two daughters.
I learnt to crochet in 2014, a week or so before my second daughter arrived. However, after she was born, I didn’t have time to do much more until 2017, when I picked up my hooks and yarn again, and I haven’t really put them down since!
I absolutely love tapestry crochet although I enjoy many other techniques as well, including mosaic, brioche and overlay crochet. My favourite items to make are blankets and accessories like shawls and hats.

Pattern Design
I started designing my own patterns in 2019, developing a passion for colourwork, and tapestry crochet in particular.
My designs are for blankets, cushions, and other home décor items, as well as accessories such as shawls and hats.
My designs are inspired by the people I make for, nature, geometry and beautiful textiles and objects from around the world.
I’ve designed for Sirdar, Hobbii, Crochet Now magazine, Simply Crochet magazine, We Crochet, and Crochet Society. Some of my designs also feature in the book "100 Crochet Tiles" published by David and Charles in 2022.
I have also released many patterns independently.
