As a little “thank you” for all the amazing support I’ve had since I started publishing crochet patterns earlier this year, I’ve recently released a new free pattern for a tapestry crochet square, which I’ve called the Midnight Pinwheel Square.

Like my Midnight Diamond square, it’s based on a solid granny square and uses the tapestry crochet technique. I used Stylecraft Special DK, which is a 100% acrylic yarn, to make mine but you could use whatever yarn you like. Cotton yarn would also work well.

I decided to turn mine into a cushion cover, joining them with dc stitches. I think they would also make a fab blanket.

For the back of my cushion I just made a solid granny square with the same colours.

If you’d like to make your own Midnight Pinwheel squares, the free pattern is available to download as a pdf here.
Happy crocheting!
